The South Pike Eagles veer offense finally broke upfield for a big gain last week.

The Eagles defeated Wilkinson County 46-12 in their first District 7-3A game of the season. The win was their second of the season, but the 46 points more than tripled their total from their first three games.

BROOKHAVEN — The Brookhaven Panthers didn’t throw the ball at all in the second half, but McComb wasn’t able to stop their running game.

The Panthers (1-0, 3-1) scored 23 points in the second half to put away a 35-21 win over the Tigers Friday night. Brookhaven piled up 286 yards rushing against the Tigers (0-1, 2-2).
