Phillip McCray scored 41 points to lead the North Pike Jaguars over the South Pike Eagles 88-83 on Friday night in Magnolia.

North Pike head coach Keith Russ watched McCray do it and still couldn’t believe he totaled 41 points.

The third time was the charm for the South Pike girls basketball team on Saturday night.

The girls beat the Brookhaven Panthers 74-68 in Magnolia on Saturday night in the third game of the season between the two teams.

The Eagles had lost both of the earlier matchups, but Saturday was different.

On the third day of the Holiday Classic, the North Pike Jaguars gave the McComb Tigers all they could handle.

North Pike pressured the Tigers into early mistakes before McComb settled down and came back in the second half to win 78-70.

Happy Holiday: N. Pike girls, boys triumph on first day of McComb classic

The North Pike girls won a close game for the first time in a while, beating Lawrence County 41-39 on the first day of the McComb Holiday Classic.

The North Pike boys didn’t take as long to put the game away. The Jaguars jumped out to an early lead and coasted to a victory over Lawrence County.
