Jags sweep playoff series

The North Pike Jaguars won their first round playoff series on Saturday, sweeping Morton 3-0 and 6-5 to advance to next weekend’s second round.

The Jaguars needed an extra inning to win the second game 6-5, but the first was a solid, all-around effort.

The Franklin County Bulldogs did more damage in the parking lot than on the scoreboard Wednesday.

North Pike (13-4, 9-0) beat the Bulldogs 4-1 to take sole possession of first place in District 7-3A, while Franklin County batters broke two windshields with foul balls.
