Newton County seemingly holds the numerical edge entering tonight’s Class 4A South State championship fastpitch softball series against host North Pike.

The Lady Cougars (26-6) have have a better overall record than that of the Lady Cougars (18-15). The Lady Cougars hold the advantage in home runs hit, 15-8, and runs scored, 270-200.

Burger King wins rough battle with BMR

The 11-to-12-year-old McComb Dixie Youth Softball game between Benny May Roofing and Burger King was a high-scoring tilt that featured plenty of runs. If only both teams could stay healthy.
