Coach, former player exchange barbs after Tigers win title

For Bradley Brock, Wednesday’s baseball game was about much more than winning a league championship. This was about redemption.

Brock, the Pike County Tigers manager and starting catcher, belted a tie-breaking, two-run home run to spark a six-run eighth inning that led the Tigers to a 15-9 victory over the McComb Brakemen.

McComb 10-year-olds beat Summit, become seventh local team to make South State

With several of its still budding teams heading to South State tournaments this season, McComb Dixie Youth Baseball truly has many young guns in its program.

The McComb 10-year-old All-Stars continued that trend Friday night with a 14-7 victory over the Summit All-Stars in the Sub-district 6 championship at Edgewood Park.

Unique technique helps McComb National power to win

The McComb National All-Stars didn’t hit the ball as well as expected in their Dixie Youth Baseball tournament-opening 14-7 loss to Summit on Wednesday. So at their coach’s urging, they went to work and found, well ... lightning in their bats.

The all-stars used an unconventional tool in batting practice Thursday and early Friday.
