City OKs use of MLK center for King Day event

Since the city gets off scot-free in its sponsorship of the annual Martin Luther King Jr. celebration, it will sign on to be a part of it again.

Mamie Kettle submitted a request to the board for the city to renew its sponsorship of the event for this year, which raised a red flag for Selectman Ted Tullos.

McComb city board members sought more information on the repair of potholes during Tuesday’s work session, goaded partly by publicity from a Christmas tree placed in one in the Edgewood neighborhood.

“When I saw that on Fox News, I was embarrassed,” Selectman Devante Johnson said.
