McComb eyeing $11M budget

City Administrator Kelvin Butler on Tuesday presented a slightly smaller budget for McComb in the coming fiscal year.

Revenues for the general fund are projected at $11,032,393 for the coming year, down about $325,000 from this year.

Property tax rates aren’t expected to rise.

McComb selectmen again delayed action on adopting an ordinance decriminalizing possession of small amounts of marijuana.

Selectman Devante Johnson made a motion to adopt the ordinance, with no discussion offered. Selectman Donovan Hill, the measure’s sponsor, seconded.

Attempts to amend McComb’s travel payment policy stumbled to a halt Tuesday.

A 3-3 split vote, with Selectmen Ronnie Brock, Devante Johnson and Shawn Williams in favor and Selectmen Ted Tullos, Michael Cameron and Donovan Hill opposed, allowed Mayor Quordiniah Lockley to cast the deciding vote against the policy change.
