Magnolia OKs new city website

Magnolia aldermen voted Tuesday night to approve a contract with U.S. Next to create a new website for the city.

Alderwoman Mercedes Ricks said during the board meeting that the city has been trying to get a site up and running for 31⁄2 years.

Now, the city won’t have to wait much longer.

Man escapes police custody

A Magnolia man is back in custody after he escaped from Magnolia Police while being processed.

Chief Ray Reynolds said Eric Lenoir, 22, 3173 Magnolia-Holmesville Road, was arrested Wednesday and charged with felony possession of crack cocaine, powder cocaine, marijuana and escape.

Duo being sought in theft of dually

Two men went to Rainbow Dodge-Chrysler-Jeep-Ram and had an unauthorized, after-hours test drive of a 2017 pickup, police said.

Detective Lt. Shannon Sullivan said the men went to the dealership at 5 p.m. Jan. 21, spoke with a salesman and inquired about a truck, which they said would be used for a business.
