McComb officer among auto burglary victims

A McComb police officer was among the victims of a recent auto burglary spree that happened between Saturday and Tuesday.

Detective Victoria Carter said officer Dan Moore reported that someone broke into his 2013 Chevrolet 2500 pickup and a 2017 Ford Explorer between 2:58 a.m. and 3:17 a.m. Tuesday at his Burke Avenue home.

Deputies recover stolen vehicle

The Pike County Sheriff’s Department recovered a stolen vehicle near a hunting camp 50 yards off Church Road near Terry’s Creek Road on Saturday.

Chief investigator Chris Bell said deputies responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle around 11 p.m.
