A Walthall County man and a native of Washington Parish, La., was named the 2017 Mississippi Highway Patrol Troop M Trooper of the Year.
Trooper First Class Craig James was given the honor by his peers. James is the son of Randy and Diane James of Franklinton, La., and the son-in-law and Kevin and Karen Breland of Sandy Hook.
