Osyka’s First Bank was robbed just after opening Thursday morning.

Police Chief Brian Mullins said a white male in his early- to mid-40s entered First Bank at 9:14 a.m. The man went to the first teller he saw and brandished a small .45 caliber handgun with an extended clip attached.

Squabble over dog leads to fire, arson charge

A Pike County man is without a house after a dispute over a dog Monday afternoon allegedly led his girlfriend to set fire to his house, using his wardrobe as kindling.

LaWanzie Devall, 47, of Columbia, was charged with arson and remained in the Pike County jail this morning with no bond set.
