LIBERTY — Amite County’s growth in property values has resulted in a decrease in the property tax rate.
County supervisors adopted the $14,735,999 budget at a Sept. 12 meeting. It takes effect Oct. 1.
The millage rate is expected to fall from 79.97 for the current budget year to 74.87 for the new budget.
