Pioneers shut out in division opener

The Parklane Academy football team lost its first conference game at Oak Forest Academy Friday night 40-0.

Neither team was able to muster more than 50 passing yards. The Yellow Jackets’ pass rush defense was able to get pressure on senior quarterback Carr Young most of the night.

Parklane to face unbeaten Oak Forest

After a welcomed bye week, the Parklane Academy football team will be on the road again for their first conference game against Oak Forest Academy in Amite, Louisiana. Kickoff is Friday at 7 p.m.

Tigers beat Parklane in first Bill Hurst Bowl

Last year, Centreville Academy’s historic win against Parklane Academy made Tiger’s head coach Bill Hurst the winningest active high school coach in Mississippi history.

The matchup this year, the inaugural Bill Hurst Bowl, resulted in another win against the Pioneers 55-15.

The Parklane Academy football team travels to take on last year’s 6-AA MSAIS championship runner up, Centreville Academy at 7 p.m. Friday.

The Pioneers are looking to bounce back after a road loss against Silliman, while the Tigers are undefeated.
