People with vested interests in fracking the Tuscaloosa Marine Shale formations in southwest Mississippi are working on similar projects in the Bakken Shale Formation in North Dakota and Montana.

Cogongrass marching into SW Mississippi

TYLERTOWN — The United States Department of Agriculture has cogongrass listed among the world’s worst weeds.

Now the offending weed has made its way to southwest Mississippi and is said to be worse at overtaking surrounding plant life than the more familiar kudzu.
