Parklane dusts off, wins jamboree, 21-7

Coaches gave their clubs mixed reviews after Friday night’s varsity action from the Parklane Academy Jamboree.

Parklane defeated Oak Forest Academy 21-7. Parklane followed that up with a scoreless tie against Centreville Academy as a hard rain around the 6:00 mark emptied the stands and made play rather sporadic.

Football Friday night

Football jamborees are nothing more than dress rehearsals for the season opener.

Parklane Academy opens regular-season play Aug. 23, but the Pioneers host their annual jamboree tonight at Cowart-Smith Stadium. Centreville Academy and Oak Forest Academy will take part in the jamboree.

What was scheduled to be a football round table featuring coaches from Southwest Mississippi Community College and the local high schools instead turned into the North Pike hour at Tuesday’s McComb Lions Club meeting at Golden Corral.

North Pike was the lone school represented.
