Fire or water? Debate continues among selectmen

The fire and water debate in McComb City Hall raged on Tuesday.

Mayor Whitney Rawlings broke a tie by voting against an effort to reverse an earlier decision to connect the city’s water system to property on Presley Boulevard where commercial development is planned.

Art auction will fund scholarships

The Southwest Mississippi Art Guild, in cooperation with the Healing Hearts Foundation of Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church, will have a silent auction and reception beginning at 6 tonight in the Charles Crossley Memorial Art Gallery at 325 N. Front St., McComb.

Chamber honors Mississippi Scholars with banquet

A banquet Monday honored 166 area high school seniors who have been recognized for their scholarship and hard work through the Mississippi Scholars program.

The Pike County Chamber of Commerce sponsored the banquet, which was held at Summit First Baptist Church.
