North Pike’s Rogers selected to Mississippi All-Star game

North Pike senior defensive midfielder Magen Rogers had been selected to play in the 2012 Mississippi Association of Coaches All-Star game Feb. 11 at Clinton High School.

Rogers was among a select group of 16 soccer players chosen to represent the South team, which includes all public school classifications — 1A to 6A.

If Alonzo Harris were an artist, he’d have the perfect idea to paint a picture. Or at least a rough sketch.

Once considered a long shot to even taste the major leagues, Harris, a 39th-round pick in 2007 out of McComb High School, has slowly moved up the minor league ranks.
