South Pike can’t hold off Hazlehurst

South Pike was three outs away Friday from matching its win total from 2011.

It will now have to wait until Monday to reach that goal.

Hazlehurst rallied back to score two runs in the sixth and seventh innings to down South Pike, 7-6, in the South Pike Tournament.

McComb baseball coach Brian Eby turned to his team and emphatically raised his voice after Hazlehurst’s six-run second inning.

Whatever he said must have worked.

The Tigers put up an 11 spot in the fourth inning to rally past Hazlehurst, 11-8, on Friday afternoon in the South Pike Tournament.
