jags to hold chicken dinner
North Pike’s softball program will hold a chicken dinner fundraiser this Saturday in the high school gym.
The event will be used to raise money for the growth of the program, which earned back-to-back 4A South State titles in 2009 and 2010.
In 2010, the Jags moved to a new field built on North Pike High School’s campus and has new goals to construct a metal building, which will house two batting cages and a locker room.
The dinner is from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday and includes a silent and live auction. Local businesses and individuals have donated items for this auction. Among the items: gift certificates to local restaurants, signed merchandise from colleges, photo sessions with local photographers, a 4-D ultrasound and home decor. The silent auction ends at 7 p.m.
Tickets for the event are $8 and include a half smoked chicken, potato salad, baked beans and a roll. Tickets can be purchased from any player or coach.
