The McComb girls volleyball team didn’t have too much to worry about on defense Saturday morning as the Piney Woods volleyball team only set up for one spike all game.
The Tigers added plenty of offense of their own, though, to win 25-10, 25-11, 25-16 and advance to the second round of the state playoffs on Tuesday.
Ashley Standberry led McComb with 15 service points, and sophomore libero Laura Kebert added 12 for the Tigers.
Koetta Watson led the team with seven kills, while Prisca Duhe was second with four.
Piney Woods didn’t attack very often, but its defense was sound enough to keep the Tigers’ hitters from being consistently effective.
The Tigers will host Our Lady Academy in the second round of the state playoffs at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
