The Kentwood Kangaroos finished Friday night’s game with a 36-20 win over the Class 5A Broadmoor Buccaneers.
Both offenses showed potential, but after a quick start by Broadmoor, Kentwood made adjustments on both sides of the ball to win in convincing fashion.
The Bucs jumped on them early scoring two touchdowns to make the score 14-0 in the first quarter.
Kentwood (4-1) responded with 17 unanswered points in the second quarter to make halftime score 17-14.
The Kangaroos added 13 in the third. Broadmoor did not score again until the fourth where each team added six points each.
Kentwood head coach Jonathan Foster said the game was won on the ground, with Kentwood ending the night with 244 yards rushing and three forced turnovers by the defense.
