MENDENHALL — The Franklin County 9-year-olds finished in third place in the State Tournament after finishing with a 3-2 record.
Kosciusko won the tournament, while Pascagoula placed second. Franklin County followed with a third place finish.
The young Franklin County team bounced back from a lost to Columbia in pool play to explode for 10 plus runs in other pool play games.
Franklin County won its pool despite losing in the tournament semi-finals.
Kosciusko won the rights to play in the 9-year-old World Series.

Also at Mendenhall, the Franklin County Dixie Youth 11-and-12-year-old All-Stars placed fifth overall in the State Tournament.
Franklin County was paced by a solid core from top to bottom. The team beat Mendenhall to advance to the quarterfinals.
