The Franklin County 7-and 8-year-old All-Stars split two games with Copiah County in the sub-district tournament Tuesday. Franklin County went 3-1 in round robin play.
Tonight’s action will pit the undefeated Copiah All-Stars against Lincoln County Nationals and the Wesson All-Stars against the Lincoln County Americans. Play begins at 6.
Led by a double from DeMarte Collins, Franklin County eclipsed Wesson 9-7. Ben Cowart, Daniel Spears, Thomas Slage and Shelby Smith each collected a single for Franklin County.
Leading Wesson was Will Hulon and Jeremy Smith with two singles each.
Paced by some breakout innings of run production, the Copiah County All-Stars beat Franklin County 16-3.
Connor Chaplin and Noah Chapa led Copiah with a double and a single each. Brandt Jones and Peyton Smith each singled.
For Franklin County, Collins, Cowart and Smith all singled.
