S. Pike opens district play by racing past Lawrence Co.

Fully rested following a bye week, South Pike opened district play by pulling away for a 42-7 win over Lawrence County on Friday in Magnolia.
The Eagles (3-3, 1-0) ran for a whopping 311 yards on 10 yards per carry against the Cougars (0-7, 0-2) as they won their third-straight game to continue a mid-season turnaround.

Miscues doom McComb in visit to face unbeaten Columbia

Wrapping up a grueling stretch against two of 4A’s strongest programs, McComb battled Columbia but costly miscues plagued it in a 38-14 loss on the road Friday.
The Tigers (6-1, 1-1) turned the ball over twice against the Wildcats (7-0, 2-0) early on, and that proved to be damming in the long-run.

Wrapping up a three-game road trip, Amite County used a stingy defensive performance to grab a 20-8 win over rivals Wilkinson County on Friday.
The Trojans (5-1, 1-0) were fresh off a bye week and looked the part against the Wildcats (0-8, 0-2) in their district-opener.

HSFB Roundup: Tylertown visits St. Stanislaus, picks up bounce-back win

Beginning a two-game roadstand, Tylertown dismantled St. Stanislaus to the tune of a 32-0 scoreline on Friday.
The Chiefs (5-2, 1-1) used a balanced attack and some stingy defense to take down the Rock-a-chaws (1-6, 0-1) as they bounced back from a narrow loss to West Marion last week.
