Bears' bats put on a show in dominant win

Southwest Mississippi baseball hosted Florida Post Grad on Tuesday and earned a dominant 14-4 win.
The pitching and the hitting both performed well for the Bears against the Marlins.
Talen Boyd started on the mound for Southwest, pitching two innings and producing three strikeouts on one hit allowed.

McComb's basketball teams advance in 4A district tourney

McComb's basketball teams opened their postseason runs in the Region Seven 4A district tournament on Tuesday in Columbia, and the Tigers picked up a pair of wins over Poplarville to move on.
The fifth-seeded Lady Tigers were led by 15 points from senior Aleia Green, while Destiny Bennett tacked on 13.

Hosting their 5A district tournament this week, North Pike’s basketball teams began their respective postseason runs by picking up a pair of double-digit wins on Tuesday.
The girls side cruised to a comfortable victory over Natchez in the opening game, while the boys outlasted Laurel in the nightcap.
