S. Pike boys powerlifting captures 19th South-State title

The widely known South Pike boys powerlifting team captured its 19th South-State powerlifting championship on Saturday in Magnolia.
The team will now turn its focus to the 4A State powerlifting meet later this month in Jackson at the Mississippi Coliseum, where the Eagles will compete for a state title.

Welcoming tenth-seeded Northeast for a quarterfinal clash in the Region 23 Tournament on Saturday, Southwest’s men’s basketball team outlasted the visitors for a 81-74 win.

Looking to pick up another crucial district victory, North Pike’s baseball team cruised to a 26-1 win over Laurel on Friday in Summit.
“Can’t start better than 2-0,” head coach Dustin Lott said. “Our four seniors got the start and led us to a victory, and I was really pleased with how our guys handled themselves.”
