The Southern Mississippi Titans 10U and 14U squads are heading to Bullhead City, Arizona, to take part in the 2026 D-I National All-American Tournament, and the team's coaches hosted a send-off for the players ahead of their 25-hour drive Wednesday.
After being prayed over by pastors in the morning, the teams met at 7:15 a.m. at the Exxon in Summit to pack equipment, put gas in vehicles and organize the passengers in each.
Most of the Titans' athletes and coaches are driving to Arizona, and they will be picking up players in Brookhaven and other towns along the way as they hope to arrive sometime Thursday morning. There are also some individuals who are choosing to fly to the venue.
The Mississippi squads will begin pool play at 3 p.m. MT (4 p.m. CT) on Friday and will continue with that through Saturday before Sunday sees bracket play get underway. Championship bouts will be held Monday, and over 80 teams from across the country are participating in this prestigious postseason event.
The Titans program is led by Coach Daniel McGaffeny, Coach Otis Corey, Coach Ray Charles Perkins and Coach Edward Shackleford, with William "Bam" Quin handling public relations.
