The National Association of Players is set to host a pair of football All-Star Games on Sunday, and plenty of athletes from the local area were drafted onto the various teams.
From Mississippi Valley University's Rice-Tottem Stadium, the first game will feature a clash between two All-Star squads from Mississippi, called 'The Mississippi Classics.' Kickoff for that matchup is set for 4:30 p.m., with Winona's DeAngelo Ballard and Kemper County's Darius Wren coaching the two sides.
Following that game, 'The Baby Superbowl' will take place between All-Star teams from Mississippi and Louisiana. That matchup will begin at 7:30 p.m, and it is worth noting that McComb head coach Alden Foster will be leading Mississippi's All-Star squad against the best from Louisiana.
From McComb, defensive lineman Keyshaun Baker, quarterback Tra'Marion Davis, receiver Sheldon Isaac, tailback/linebacker Jace Jackson, receiver Ricardo Mitchell, defensive back Delwin Perkins Jr., offensive lineman Anthony Alexander, defensive lineman Cameron Hackett, offensive lineman Hakeim Johnson, running back Sammy Badon and safety La'Marcus Hicks were all selected.
From Amite County, offensive lineman Marcus Day, linebacker Jacoby Roberts, defensive lineman Darien Tolliver, quarterback Marquavius McGhee and tailback/linebacker Kemari Thompson were all selected.
From Parklane, wide receiver Brennan Ellison was selected.
From North Pike, linebacker Jakobe Barnes was selected.
From Tylertown, tailback Jermaine Pittman was selected.
And from Salem, receiver Jamyen Walter and tailback Jayden Sanders were selected.
