Parade magazine is discontinuing its print publication.
The last print issue of Parade is in this weekend’s edition.
“We’ve enjoyed our long association with Parade and being able to provide it every weekend to subscribers of the Enterprise-Journal,” said Jack Ryan, the newspaper’s editor and publisher. “Parade has decided, however, to go in a different direction under its new ownership, and its decision is beyond our control.”
The Arena Group acquired Parade five months ago as well as two of its sister magazines, Relish and Spry Living. Arena discontinued Relish and Spry Living after their October issues.
Parade will continue in an electronic format, but Ryan said the Enterprise-Journal would not be adding Parade to its own weekend E-edition at this time.
“We’ll continue to consider that option, but we already provide a lot of state and national news and features from The Associated Press and various syndicates on our website. I don’t know how much additional value Parade would bring to that platform,” he said.
“In this difficult advertising climate, resources are tight, and our priority is investing them in producing as much local content as we can.”
