On Tuesday, Dec 19, television station WLBT Channel 3 in Jackson aired its special celebrating 70 years of broadcasting. It showed short clips of news and weather events since the station has been on the air, and identified by name their news anchors and weathermen and ladies over that period.
The special brought back many memories to me. But for some reason, they left out a very important news and weather lady, Barbie Bassett. She was an intricate part of Channel 3 for years and she did not deserve to be left out of the station’s history.
In my opinion, she was wronged by the station. She is a fine Christian lady who had her words misinterpreted by some people and was fired by the management of the station. Shame on you, WLBT, for not including Barbie.
