Thomas Auther “Arter” Wilkinson, 83, died at his residence near Liberty on Aug. 23, 2015.
Visitation is 5 to 8 tonight at Brown Funeral Home in Gloster and continues Wednesday from 9 a.m. until services at Brown at 11. The Rev. Lee Miley and Dr. Dennis Johnsey will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Memorial Cemetery near Gloster.
Mr. Wilkinson was born Sept. 2, 1931, in Amite County, the son of Ebbie and Betty Williams Wilkinson.
He was a former road crewman for the Mississippi Department of Transportation and also was a former lineman with more than 30 years of service with Mississippi Power & Light Company, now Entergy.
Mr. Wilkinson was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Kendra Wilkinson; three brothers, John Allen Wilkinson, Otis Wilkinson and L.H. Wilkinson; two sisters, Aldean Longmire and Myra Luane Honea; and a stepdaughter, Ariel Duncan.
Survivors include his wife, Pauline Brooks Wilkinson; a son, Robert Wilkinson and wife Deborah; three daughters, Debra Sturdivant and husband Griffin, Patsy Honea and husband Dennis and Kathleen Bonds and husband Paul; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two stepsons, James Foster and wife Allice and Joel Foster and wife Michelle; a step-grandson; and three sisters, Marlene Harrell and husband Clyde; Fannie Hazlip and Lennie Westbrook.
