Joyce Isaac Mathis
Joyce Marie Isaac Mathis, 62, of Memphis, Tenn., and formerly of McComb, died June 16, 2009, at Methodist Germantown Hospital in Memphis.
Visitation is 11 a.m. Tuesday at Cook’s Enterprise Funeral Home in McComb until services there at noon. Bishop Robert Thompson will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Mathis was born March 30, 1947, in Pike County. She was the daughter of Jessie Isaac Samuels and Warren Neland.
She retired from AT&T Telephone Co. as a supervisor in 1998 and was employed by Shelby County School System as payroll clerk.
Mrs. Mathis was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
Survivors include two daughters, Felicia Mathis of Memphis and Yuvonka Mathis of Richardson, Texas; four grandchildren, Elicia Mathis, Kendra Mitchell and Torrance and Immanuel Jones, all of Memphis; five sisters, Gwendolyn Hayes and husband Louis, and Doris Samuels, all of Chicago, and Gloria Isaac Walker of Oak Park, Ill., Maria Martin and husband Mark of Baton Rouge, and Suzonne Samuels of McComb; four brothers, Emerson Samuels of Akron, Ohio, Elston Samuels and wife Sheeree of McComb, Ronald Samuels of Alexandria, Va., and Frederick Samuels of Alexandria, La.; an uncle, Leroy Jenkins of Chicago; an aunt, Betty Jenkins of Chicago; a special sister-in-law, Jimmie Ruth McKennis of McComb; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Barney F. Foreman
Barney F. Foreman, 65, of Baton Rouge, died June 20, 2009, at Baton Rouge General Hospital.
Visitation is 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Jones Family Funeral Services in McComb, and 9 a.m. Wednesday until services there at 11 a.m. The Rev. Jim Rentz and the Rev. Randall Griffin will officiate. Burial will be in Hollywood Cemetery.
Mr. Foreman was born April 11, 1944, in McComb. He was the son of Ella Foreman Dickerson of McComb and the late Howard Foreman.
He was a retired process operator for Exxon Refinery and a member of the Healing Place Church in Baton Rouge. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include his wife, Theda J. Foreman of Baton Rouge; his mother; two sons and daughters-in-law, Kevin and Kathy Foreman of Baton Rouge and Stephen and Wendy Foreman of Brookhaven; three daughters, Stacy Westmoreland of Baton Rouge, Kelly Oxenhorn of San Diego and Cherry Foreman of Raleigh Durham, N.C.; a brother, Greg Dickerson of McComb; a sister, Janice Thompson and husband Luther of Pearl; six grandchildren, Kayla, Jade, Ashtyn, Ross, Wesley Ann and Grayson; and two nieces, Melissa and Kimberly.
Pallbearers will be Cecil Labord, Robert Daniel, Luther Thompson, Buddy Wicker, Bennett Humphries and Paul Walker.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ross Foreman and Grayson Foreman.

James W. “Boot” Ard Sr., 66, of Ruth, died June 21, 2009, at Beacham Memorial Hospital.

Brenda Spurlock, 58, of McComb, died June 21, 2009, at University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, after a sudden illness.
