Maybelle C. Freeman, 90, of Magnolia, died Oct. 8, 2009, at Beacham Memorial Hospital in Magnolia.
Visitation is 9 a.m. today until 2 p.m. services at Catchings Funeral Home of McComb. The Rev. Fred Cook will officiate. Burial will be in Stewart Cemetery.
Mrs. Freeman was born March 14, 1919, in Greensburg, La. She was the daughter of Wade and Lillie Wall Cummings.
She was of the Pentecostal faith.
Mrs. Freeman was a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing and quilting. She made quilts for all of her grandchildren.
Her family said she was a loving sister, wife and mother. She enjoyed spending time with all her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Houston C. Freeman Sr.; two daughters, Dorothy McDonald and Sandra Gail Freeman; six brothers, Woodies, Andrew, Barney, Ratcliff, Roy and Robert Cummings; two sisters, Eddis Carroll and Lillian Durkes; two sons-in-law, Don Dennison and Kenneth McDonald; and one granddaughter, Donna Sue Dennison.
Mrs. Freeman is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Robert E. Freeman of Natchitoches, La., and Houston C. Freeman Jr. and Carolyn of Montgomery, La.; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Rachel Dennison of Summit, Bobby Nell and Kenneth Melbourne of Ashdown, Ark., and Margie and Alton Perry of Crosby; 17 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, 13-great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Ricky Cummings, Chris Saucier, Alton Perry Jr., Allen Ray McDonald, Tommy McDonald, Delane Freeman, Coty Freeman and Brian Thompson.
