Aubrey A. Brown
Aubrey A. Brown, 76, of Magnolia passed from this life on Sept. 30, 2022, at his residence.
Visitation continues at Sharkey Funeral Home noon today until services at 2 p.m. with Dr. David Millican officiating. Burial will follow in the Magnolia Cemetery.
He was born June 5, 1946, in Magnolia, the son of Leo Brown and Addie Mae Lewis Brown.
He retired from South Pike School District after 16 years of service as shop foreman for the school bus garage. He enjoyed camping, floating the Bogue Chitto River, rebuilding old cars and riding motorcycles.
He was a loving husband, father, step-grandfather, step-great-grandfather, brother, cousin and friend. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Lloyd Brown; a brother-in-law, Wallace Bailey; and a nephew, Eddie Ray Bailey.
He is survived by his loving, faithful wife of 56 years, Laura Bailey Brown of Magnolia; a daughter, Michelle Brown Hunter and Tim of Vicksburg; a brother, Floyd Brown and Helon of Summit; step-granddaughters, Lori Finney (Mike) of Vicksburg, Ragan Haas (Travis) of Vicksburg and Brandy Stewart of Cary; step-great-grandchildren, Olivia Thompson, Marley Jo Haas, Noah Haas, Paige Bussey and Jack Stewart; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family and friends.
Pallbearers are Jim Stewart, Lonnie Cox, Tim Hunter, John Timman, Danny Craig and Donald Ford. Honorary Pallbearers are Mike Brown, T.J. Bowman and Melvin Bryant.

Gabriel C. Nettles
Gabriel Cleo Nettles, 4, of Gloster passed away Sept. 27, 2022, at his residence.
Services are noon today at Brown Funeral Home chapel in Gloster with Junior Partin officiating.
Burial will follow in Mount Carmel United Methodist Church Cemetery near Gloster.
He was born April 18, 2018, the son of Scott Nettles and Samantha Garcia.
He is survived by his parents; a half-sister, Christina Becker; grandparents, Stephanie Partin, Bobby Nettles, Melissa Rigneyand Geronimo Garcia; a great-grandfather, Earnest Partin; and a great-grandmother, Kathryn Dumas.
Robert E. McKinney Jr.
Robert Eldridge McKinney Jr., 82, passed peacefully from this earth to his heavenly home Sept. 30, 2022.
Visitation is 9 a.m. today at McKneely Funeral Home, Kentwood, La., until services at 11, with the Rev. Milton Bourgue officiating.
He was born at home on June 28, 1940, in Emerald to his loving parents, Robert Eldridge McKinney Sr. and Ethel Jane Allen McKinney.
He attended St. Mary of the Pines until he started school at Magnolia High School, where he graduated in 1958. He was a man of many talents and skills. He served his country in the U.S. Navy and later joined the Merchant Marines.
Robert traveled the world working as a master electrician in the oil and gas industry for over 35 years. He was also an excellent welder. Robert was fiercely loyal to those he loved. He was selfless and generous to many. His love of his family and friends was most important. He shared two children through his marriage to Myrtie Newman, Robert Eldridge McKinney III and Clifton Newman McKinney.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his children, Robert Eldridge McKinney, III (K. Jennifer Horne McKinney), Clifton Newman McKinney (Pamela Rogers McKinney), Sallie Wofford Jackson and William Wofford (Geneva); grandchildren, Ashleigh Victoria McKinney, Hope McKinney Easley (Joe), Laurel McKinney, Emily F. Chustz (Matthew), Ian McKinney (Carrissa), Olivia McKinney, Mac McKinney, Nicholas Jackson and Neva, Will and Sarah Wofford; great-grandchildren, Cayman Boone, Sterling White, and Avilene McKinney; his longtime companion, Myrtie N. Wofford; siblings and spouses, Pat and Vivian McKinney, Perry and Liz McKinney, and Charles and Sheree McKinney; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
His favorite quote to tell his children and grandchildren was, "It is the responsibility of the strong to care for the weak." He lived his life by this motto to the fullest. He was a spiritual person who loved God. He showed his faith by his deeds. He will forever be loved and missed.

Mildred S. Woodall
Mildred Sasser Woodall, 90, of Bogue Chitto passed away peacefully Sept. 30, 2022, surrounded by family at her home.
Visitation continues at 10 a.m. today at Montgomery Baptist Church in Bogue Chitto until services at 11. After the service, burial will be in the Moak-Sasser Cemetery on Bogue Chitto Road. Dr. Mike Carr and Bro. Larry Russell will officiate. Broohaven Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
She was born March 12, 1932, to Lillie Cranfield and Clifton Cranfield in Franklin County.
She graduated from Independence School. She spent her life diligently serving the Lord, her family, and the community, always selflessly meeting the needs of others. She was very involved in church, serving as WMU director, Sunday school teacher, choir member, and on numerous committees. The last several years, she faithfully attended Montgomery Baptist Church, where she was an active member of her Sunday school class.
As matriarch of a close-knit family, she loved being active in the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. A featured cook in The Daily Leader, she was well-known for her culinary skills, always getting requests for her chicken pie, chocolate pie, and egg custard pie. She enjoyed keeping a large garden every year, so fresh vegetables would be plentiful.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Russell Sasser and R.E. Woodall; brothers, Earl Wilkinson, Leroy Wilkinson, Floyd Wilkinson, Emmit Johnston, Ray Cranfield and John Henry Johnston; sisters, Ammie Allred, Nannie Bell Allred, Myrtie Cranfield, Marie Pickering, Rhoda Thorton, Bessie Mae Gill and Mattie Jones; and a precious granddaughter, Traci Sasser.
She is survived by her sons, Sidney Sasser (Melissa), Larry Sasser (Kathy), Danny Sasser and Bruce Forshee (Mary); daughters, Sharon King (Scott) and Sheila Carter (Stan); a sister, Lillie Dickinson; 11 grandchildren, Kim Sasser Jones, Karen Vest (Johnaton), Lane Sasser (Annisa), Dustin Sasser (Ashley), Blake Sasser (Brittany), Victoria McNair (Matt), Brittany Williams (Jeff), Brooke Morse (Jacob), Danielle Sasser, Russ Carter (Lindsay), and Matt Carter (Kady); and 19 great-grandchildren, Kylie Windmiller, Zachary Jones, Sydney Vest, Aiden Vest, Cooper Vest, Hunter Sasser, Colby Sasser, Elijah Sasser, Logan Sasser, Parker Williams, Payton Williams, Paxton Williams, Madison Mildred Morse, Leighton Russell, Anniston Carter, Beckett Carter, Landry Carter, Jackson Carter and Tate Carter.
Pallbearers are Russ Carter, Matt Carter, Lane Sasser, Blake Sasser, Hunter Sasser and Colby Sasser.

Randy E. Carter, 61, of Magnolia departed this earthly life Sept. 29, 2022, at Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center.
Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Peoples Undertaking Co. Services are 1 p.m. Friday at New Star Missionary Baptist Church in Magnolia with burial in the church cemetery.
Mr. Carter was born May 6, 1961, to Alma L. Carter and Malcolm Caston in Pike County.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother; a sister, LaTrese Harris; and a sister-in-law, Cathy Varnado.
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 36 years, Helen M. Carter; five children, Charles Tillman of Hammond, La,. Tenecia (Corey) Carr of Baton Rouge, Kanesha Addison of McComb, Randy (Quinetta) Carter and Andy Carter, all of Magnolia; seven grandchildren, Kaeden, Corey, Karson, Ky’in, Coan, Ky’lin, and Karlye; six siblings, Alice Varnado, Clarence Varnado, Jimmy (Melissa) Varnado, Herman Varnado, Ralph Varnado and Raymond Varnado; an uncle, Andrew “Pewee” (Deloris) Carter; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
