Jerry Foster
Jerry Linden Foster, 74, of Denham Springs, La., and formerly of McComb, gained his wings and met our Lord and Savior April 11, 2022, surrounded by his family at home.
Visitation is noon to 1:45 p.m. Saturday at Hartman-Jones Funeral Home with graveside services following at 2 at Hollywood Cemetery. Dr. David Millican will officiate.
He was born Oct. 10, 1947, in McComb to John T. Foster Sr. and Francis Erwin Foster.
He graduated from McComb High School in 1966. He served in the United States Navy.
He married Cheryl Sterling Foster on Sept. 20, 1969. He was the father of two sons, Travis and Mitchell Foster.
Jerry was an active member of South McComb Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and Sunday school superintendent. For the last 25 years, he has been a member of Northside Baptist Church in Denham Springs, where he also served as a deacon.
Jerry was a contractor sales representative for 45 years with Wickes Lumber and 84 Lumber of Baton Rouge. He coached youth league baseball in McComb for his boys.
His interests included spending time with family and friends, but the greatest joy of his life was watching his beautiful granddaughters play basketball and compete in track, dance and cheer.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, John T. Foster Jr; and his infant sister Carolyn.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Cheryl Sterling Foster of Denham Springs; two sons, Travis S. Foster (Crystalynn) of Holden, La., and Mitchell F. Foster (Amanda) of Kenner, La.; four granddaughters, Brooke Foster, Blaize Foster, Addison Foster, and Cassidy Foster; sisters-in-law, Patricia Seale (Jack), Pauline Behlar (Jim), Barbara Evans (Philip), Francis Walker (Gene) and Dot Foster of Columbus; a brother-in-law, Paul Sterling; a niece, Cindy Rowley (Vernon); a nephew, John David Foster; and numerous other nieces and nephews.

Deloise “Pete” Peters, 64, of Tylertown answered his Master’s call April 10, 2022, embraced by his loving arms.
Visitation is 9 a.m. Saturday at Craft-Dillon-Ginn Funeral Chapel, Tylertown, until services at 10. Apostle Clayton Bullock will officiate.
Interment will be in Tylertown Cemetery.
Mr. Peters was born March 7, 1958, in Tylertown to Mr. R.H. Peters and Mrs. Jessye Quinn.

Samuel Magee
Samuel Magee, 45, of Tylertown departed this life April 9, 2022, in Baton Rouge, La.
Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Craft-Dillon-Ginn Funeral Chapel. Services are 1 p.m. Saturday at Magee’s Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Tylertown with burial in the Magee Estate Cemetery in Tylertown.
He was born Nov. 18, 1976, in Tylertown, the son of Samuel Magee and Eticia Pittman. He was the husband of Subrana Magee.

Lucy Brister
Lucy Brister, 104, completed her earthly journey and she gently stepped into glory April 6, 2022, at her daughter’s home in Jackson.
Visitation is 11 a.m. Monday at Craft-Dillon-Ginn Funeral Chapel in Tylertown until funeral services at 1 p.m. with Dr. Joe Harris officiating. Burial will follow at West Sunny Hill Church Cemetery.
She was born July 24, 1917, in Walthall County.

L.C. Travis Jr., 66, of Smithdale, passed away April 1, 2022, at his residence and is under the care of R.E. Tyler Funeral Home Inc. in Brookhaven.
Walkthrough visitation is 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Social distancing will be observed and masks are required.

Mr. Travis was born to the late L.C. Travis Sr. and Armia Holloway who preceded him in death.
He is survived by his daughter, KaTrena Travis; her mother, Brenda Butler; a significant other, Glenda Addison; brothers, Michael and Emanuel Gaines; and sister, Cassandra Underwood.
Thomas Jackson
Thomas LaVere Jackson, 80, longtime resident of Amite County, passed away April 12, 2022.
Graveside services are 11 a.m. Thursday at Jackson Wilkinson Cemetery, with the Rev. Jason Whittington officiating.
He was born July 23, 1941, the son of Woodrow Wilson Jackson and Ella Pearl Cooper.
He worked was a plumber for most of his life and was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Mert Jackson and Ricky Jackson.
He is survived by his wife Helen Jackson; two sons, Thomas L. Jackson Jr. and Laverne, and Bruce W. Jackson and Sandra; seven grandchildren, Brandon Tyler Jackson, Raven T. Ready and Levi, Melissa C. Longmire, Felicia Scroggs and Chrissy Morgan, Bruce Wayne Jackson Jr., and Emily Ann Jackson, Kimberly Scroggs and Bill McDavid; two great-grandchildren, Trevor James Morgan and Josiah Dell Ready; two brothers, Mark Jackson and Verna, and Monterry Jackson; one sister, Glenda Jackson and Rafael Nowicki; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends; a special friend, Terry “Slick” Temple; lifelong friend, Hansel Bass; and his second family, the Busy Corner Hunting Club.
