Jerry Allen Wroten
Jerry Allen Wroten, 86, a longtime resident of Liberty, answered the Master’s call on Wednesday, March 5, 2025. He was a loving father, grandfather, uncle and friend.
All services will be Saturday at Enterprise Baptist Church, 3601 Lower Liberty Gloster Rd., Liberty.
Visitation is at 11 a.m., with the funeral service at 2 p.m., officiated by Rev. Shan Van Norman and Rev. Basil Wicker.
He will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife, Ann Roberts Wroten, in the church cemetery. Charlet Funeral Home of Clinton, La., is in charge of arrangements.
Jerry was born Jan. 2, 1939. He retired from the Mississippi Forestry Commission with 20-plus years of service.
He was a longtime member of Enterprise Baptist Church, where he sang with “The Gully Jumpers.”
Jerry loved to entertain folks with his guitar and fiddle. His songs were welcomed anywhere he went. He loved to be with people and never met a stranger.
Jerry’s smile and humor will be deeply missed. If you knew him, you loved him and he loved you. His legacy will live on through all the memories many shared with him.
Jerry is survived by his son, Dale Wroten (LeTesa); step granddaughter, Arianna Shelton; sister-in-law, Faye Wroten; sister-in-law, Nona Faye Roberts Punchard (Bennie); brother-in-law, David Roberts; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and extended family.
Jerry was preceded in death by his wife, Norwood Ann Roberts Wroten; infant son, Danny Carl Wroten; parents, Thomas Cage and Ruth Steele Wroten; brother, Charles Edgar Wroten; and sister and brother-in-law, Linda Jean Wroten Morgan (Lee).
Pallbearers will be Tommy Morgan, Robert Morgan, Dewey Morgan, Eric “Buddy” Dufour, Caleb Dufour, Brad Roberts and Ken Wroten.
Honorary pallbearers are Wayne Wroten, Clint Roberts, David Roberts and Thomas Wayne Wallace.

Veronica Thomas, 60, of Magnolia, passed away Thursday, March 13, 2025.
Visitation is 1 p.m. Sunday at Sharkey Funeral Home of Summit, with services there at 3 p.m. The Rev. Greg Whitehead and the Rev. Richard Scoggins will officiate.
Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
She was born Friday, May 1, 1964 in Magnolia.
