North Pike and South Pike schools, as well as Parklane Academy and Southwest Mississippi Community College will resume regular class schedules on Tuesday, but McComb School District officials said campuses will remain closed another day “due to hazardous conditions at schools resulting from severe weather.”
Teachers and students were told to stay home, but principals, including custodians and other staff were required to report to work Tuesday.
“We appreciate your understanding and flexibility as we navigate these weather-related challenges. The safety and well-being of our students, families, and staff remain our top priority,” the school district said in a statement.
Classes were expected to resume on Wednesday.
