Cinderella got her Prince Charming in the end and the same can be said about Pike County sheriff’s deputies Bena Williams and Jerry Jones.
The two exchanged vows July 22 at the Pike County Fairgrounds.
Escorted in by fellow deputies, the bride arrived in a horse-drawn carriage as her father, Alton Robinson, awaited her arrival.
As Jones watched his bride walk down the aisle to the song “Giving Myself Over to You” by Jennifer Hudson, a big smile came across his face.
The Rev. Dwight Lee, an officer with the Summit Police Department, officiated.
As tradition goes, Lee asked the crowd if anyone had any objections to the two becoming man and wife.
“Let me explain,” he said. “This means after the couple has said their ‘I do’s’ and I pronounce them husband and wife, you cannot say anything negative about the two or the wrath of God will be upon you.”
After the short ceremony the couple and their guests went into the reception area, where they were in awe of a towering five tier-wedding cake made by Apryle J. Kleinhans of WADA Cake of Vicksburg. Kleinhans said it took her and her team six months to construct the cake and all pieces were made by hand.
While their guests dined, the couple enjoyed a romantic carriage ride before joining them.
