A 54-year-old Summit man and 13-year-old Pricedale girl died in separate wrecks, authorities reported.
Kaitlynn Roberts, 13, died Sunday afternoon in a two-car wreck on C.D. Rayborn Road, Pike County Chief Investigator Chris Bell said.
Bell said Roberts was a front-seat passenger in a 1999 Saturn driven by Ernest Westmoreland, 18, of Jayess, which apparently collided head-on with a 2007 Nissan pickup driven by William Chapman, 50, of Summit.
Roberts was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck.
Chapman went by helicopter to Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, where he was in stable condition this morning, Bell said.
In the other accident, Bobby Chisholm, 54, 3166 Enterprise Road, Summit, died in a one-vehicle accident on Moak Road Thursday evening.
Chisholm was southbound in a 1992 Chevrolet pickup that left the road, flipped several times over a fence and crashed into a light pole, causing a power outage in the area, Bell said.
Chisholm was apparently not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle, Bell said.
Pike County Coroner Percy Pittman pronounced him dead at the scene.
Services for Chisholm will be held at 2 p.m. today at Hartman-Jones Funeral Home on Park Drive in McComb.
Funeral arrangements for Roberts are incomplete with Sharkey Funeral Home of Summit.
