TYLERTOWN — Walthall County supervisors again put their support behind a transportation program to help citizens.
Alice Brumfield of Rose Hill Community Center, which started a limited service last year, told board members that Rose Hill is applying for another grant from the Mississippi Department of Transportation to purchase more vehicles and expand service further.
She said the grant could help the center buy six- and 12-passenger vans that would be Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant.
One vehicle would be dedicated to Walthall County, and one driver would be hired to run a route or respond to pickup requests.
“We want to work with the county on how we can serve you better,” Brumfield said.
The board unanimously passed a resolution supporting Rose Hill’s grant application.
