Louisiana authorities arrested a Tylertown couple Friday in connection with the death of a man whose body was found inside a car left at an interstate exit about two weeks earlier.
Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards said Rodney Reynolds, 36, is accused of killing Alphonse R. Reid.
Reid’s body was found March 16 at the Tangipahoa exit of Interstate 55.
An autopsy report indicated that Reid died from multiple gunshot wounds.
Edwards said he was found dead inside of a silver four-door Infiniti car.
Reynolds has been charged with second degree murder and obstruction of justice. he is being held without bond in the Tangipahoa Parish Jail.
His girlfriend, Mary K. Mayeaux, 43, also of Tylertown, has been charged with accessory after the fact to second degree murder, accessory after the fact to obstruction of justice and failure to report a felony.
Mayeaux is being held at the Pike County jail, where she awaits extradition to Louisiana.
A motive for the killing remains unclear, the sheriff said.
