McComb police are looking for two suspects in connection with a strong-armed robbery that occurred in the city Friday night. And one of the men could have a stab wound, McComb Detective Shannon Sullivan said.
Mario Garrett of McComb told police that he and a female juvenile from Gloster were attacked and robbed on the 300 block of Beech Street near the intersection of Labranch Street at about 9:30 a.m., Sullivan said.
The detective said two black men believed to be in their 20s stole the female’s purse, which contained a small amount of cash and personal medication, the juvenile victim said. The purse is a Vera Bradly pink handbag with flower designs on it, Sullivan said.
In the course of the assault, Garrett told police he pulled out a small pocket knife and stabbed one of the attackers in the side.
Garrett and the female had visible bruising from the attack, but neither one went to the hospital for treatment, Sullivan said.
Garrett and the juvenile said one of the attackers was wearing a blue and white striped shirt and white shorts.
The other man was wearing a black hoodie and black pants at the time of the robbery, Garrett said.
Both men fled on foot and were gone before police arrived.
“After they took the purse, it became a strong-armed robbery case,” Sullivan said.
