The Summit Fall Festival, featuring local artists and craftspeople selling their wares and activities for kids, adults and even pets, is set for 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday along Robb Street in downtown Summit.
“There are going to be a lot of vendors along the side streets, too, but mostly its just going to cover Robb Street downtown,” Summit Chamber of Commerce president Shawn Johnson said.
While festival organizers are expecting a good showing from vendors, Johnson said they will gladly accept more vendors through Friday.
“We added five more vendors this morning,” Johnson said Tuesday. “Many of the vendors have rented two to three spaces.”
The booths are 12-by-12 feet and cost $65 apiece.
“It is definitely not too late to get a booth, but we are happy that we are going to have more vendors for food and crafts than we have ever had before,” Johnson said.
The Summit Depot will have a kiddie train ride and games, and at 1:30 p.m. it will be the site of a pet and owner look-alike contest.
“It’ll be free. We really encourage pet owners to join the fun. Southwest Animal Hospital is in charge of this, and they would love for people to pre-register with them,” Johnson said.
Other events include a children’s costume contest at 9:15 a.m. at the depot , a performance by the Rejoice Dance Academy at 10:15 a.m., a demonstration by the Blue Crew Robot Team at noon, a 12:45 p.m. performance by gospel singer David “Paw-Paw” Brewer, a 2:30 p.m. performance by vocalist and guitarist Clair Clark, and a 3 p.m. performance by Christian rock group Cody Ready & Friends.
