The case of a Magnolia teen accused in the September shooting death of his stepfather has been bound over to a Pike County grand jury. Konner Miller, 17, 2187 LaBlanc Road, is charged with murder in the death of his stepfather, Craig O. Rosenquist.
Miller waived his right to a preliminary hearing in Pike County Justice Court on Tuesday after his attorney, John McNeil, stipulated the state had probable cause to make the arrest.
The shooting occurred at the family’s home around 5:45 p.m. Sept. 27. The teen’s mother, Aimee Rosenquist, told deputies at the scene that her son had shot her husband, Pike County Chief Investigator Chris Bell said.
Craig Rosenquist died of multiple gunshot wounds from an assault rifle, Bell said.
Miller’s bond remains jailed in lieu of $250,000 bond. McNeil said he may ask for a bond reduction but did not seek one Tuesday.
When the Enterprise-Journal contacted Pike County Justice Court about obtaining a copy of the criminal affidavit in the case, Judge Bryan Harbour declined to release the public document, saying the paper “basically didn’t need it.”
