It’s going to feel like Christmas on Thursday as businesses across Pike County offer holiday discounts, giveaways and treats such as a nacho bar and a s’mores bar.
Businesses participating in the Pike County Chamber of Commerce’s annual Mistletoe & Magic event will be open until 8 p.m. Thursday.
Blue-Eyed Sisters Boutique and Salon co-owner Michelle Allred said customers can indulge in a nacho bar with fixings from 5 to 8 p.m., draw discounts for up to 50 percent off on one item, get a free Erimish bracelet with every $100 spent, win $100 gift cards and other giveaways.
“We give awesome deals and it’s a great way to kickstart the holiday season and get good deals,” Allred said. “It’s for the community and small businesses, so just come out and support us.”
At the Flower Nook, everything will be 20 percent off and customers can enjoy refreshments and door prizes all day, owner Kelly Hart said.
“We’re excited to participate with the other stores for the event,” she said. “We’re coming together as merchants to entice people to shop local, shop at home.”
Debec’s employee Randi Rowdon said the store will offer a 25 percent discount on all items and customers can enjoy a s’mores bar, a braid bar and barbecue at 5 p.m.
“Shopping local is always good and it helps the store and brings the whole community together,” Rowdon said.
Cornerstone Consignment owner Danielle Brown said the store will offer discounts from 25 percent to 75 percent.
“You get more of the community to come out and they have more hours to shop all the stores because we’re open late,” Brown said.
