A rabbit hunter made an eerie discovery Monday morning when he came across human remains.
According to several news outlets, the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Department is investigating the discovery in a wooded area in Amite, La., near East Factory Street.
The Amite City Police Department, Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Department, Tangipahoa Parish Coroner’s Office and the LSU Forensic Anthropology and Computer Enhancement Services are aiding in the investigation.
The remains have not been identified, but preliminary tests show that they appear to be those of a middle-aged man.
