TYLERTOWN – Aldermen had a brief property hearing and set another Tuesday night.
Lashanda Ard, who owns property on Magee-Badon Road, returned to address the board on the state of the property, which has been under consideration by the board since late last year.
“We’ve got a lot more done,” Ard said. “We’ve been working inside on the wiring. Somebody got in and stole all the copper.”
Ard also said some of the windows had been replaced, as well as outside boards, and some sections of the outside had been covered with tin sheeting.Where windows and doors have yet to be replaced, the openings have been boarded up.
The yard has been mowed, as well.
Ard estimated that work on the property would be completed by November or December.
“I’ve driven by, and I have to say, the outside has improved drastically,” Mayor Ed Hughes said.
The board continued the hearing 60 days to the Aug. 1 meeting.
The board also set a new hearing for the property at 517 Cleveland Ave. The property was previously considered and discharged, but new complaints have been made.
The property’s owners will be expected to meet with the board at the recess meeting on Aug. 15.
