McComb police detectives are continuing to question witnesses to the Tuesday night shooting death of a McComb man.
William Edward Aych Jr., 44, 120 Gillis Circle Apt. 18B, died after being shot multiple times outside of Queenz Empire on South Locust Street next to Mike’s Supermart around 6:35 p.m.
Detective Lance Falvey had very little to say to update the public on the progress of the case this morning.
Falvey said investigators are still gathering information from witnesses, and police have brought in a person for questioning.
Falvey said the person is cooperating with the police and they anticipate a development in the case. He said those who witnessed the incident also are cooperating.
Pike County Coroner Percy Pittman pronounced Aych dead at the scene. Aych’s body has been sent off to the state crime lab in Jackson.
Detectives are still awaiting autopsy results.
They haven’t said what type of weapon was used in the killing, and one official said detectives are hoping the autopsy may yield more clues about the murder weapon.
Falvey said Aych and another person got into an argument before the shooting but it’s not clear what the argument was about.
