A McComb native, steeped in local history, challenged members of the Rotary Club Wednesday “to make a difference” in setting the community on a positive course.
“There’s nothing going on in McComb that you can’t make better,” said Jackson businessman Billy Neville, who has deep family roots in McComb.
Neville, whose late father Bill Neville was one of the founders of the local Rotary Club and also served as a district governor, was a member of the club himself before moving to Jackson as a banker and later a successful retailer.
He was expected to talk about local history, which he did to some extent.
But the thrust of his talk was urging the Rotary Club to become a catalyst to overcome current problems — with a positive attitude toward job creation and improving local business.
Neville passed out a booklet which included some local history as well as his ideas for making the community more successful.
