A McComb man left his home for a few hours and returned to find his utility trailer and other tools taken from his home.
Pike County Detective Sgt. Robbie Roberts said Frank Jarveaux, Old Highway 24, said he left his home on Thursday around 10 a.m. and returned around 12:40 p.m.
Roberts said when Jarveaux returned home he found his John Deere Zero Turn law mower, a utility trailer, gasoline weed trimmer, air compressor and Blue Star welder missing.
He said Jarveaux’s security cameras captured a 2002 Chevrolet 1500 pickup arriving at the home and being hitched to the trailer before leaving.
Roberts said Pike County Detective Christopher Bell and Walthall County Detective Lance Falvey tracked the truck down and spoke with the owner.
Roberts said investigators were able to read the tag from the surveillance camera and tracked the vehicle back to Walthall County.
“We contacted the Walthall County Sheriff’s Department and Detective Lance Falvey went to the owner’s residence and saw the trailer,” Roberts said, “He ran the tag that was on the trailer.”
He said the tag came back registered to Jarveaux and Falvey then contacted Pike County Sheriff’s Department investigators.
He said the trailer was recovered in Walthall County. A person of interest has been identified, but no arrests have been made.
Roberts said the two departments are working to locate others who have been involved with the burglary and the rest of the missing items.
